Lahore Memories - Eid Milad E Nabi Poster

Qasim Khan Lahore

74 years back, in year 1939, my father was doing his college (BA-Hons) from Islamia College Lahore, he and his buddies arranged a gathering of young Muslims to celebrate "Eid Milad e Nabi" a token of love and respect to the Holy Prophet (PBUH). The Muslim Comrades League was close to Muslim League of Jinnah and my father enjoyed the honor of working as a body guard for Quaid-e-Azam when he stayed for a week in "Mamdot Villa" Lahore, while he and late Mr. Hameed Nizami (founder of Nawai waqt) and late Molana Abdul Sattar Niazi (a former leader and ex- federal minister) headed a group of young Muslim men who volunteered to escort Quaid-e-Azam during the Lahore Resolution (23rd March 1940). This poster reminds me of all those sleepless nights of our elders who gave us this homeland.
